   Artist Statement

Personality

Wonder Women

Northern Lights

My inspiration is that this is something that I had never really done before so I used this piece to help me get more familiar

The process that I used to create this piece is that I started with sketching the outline of the piece then I started working on the details on the piece. Then when I was finished with that I moved on to putting ink on the outlines then to the details and added shading and some contrast to the piece.

My inspiration for this drawing was that I like this actress, she plays great in this movie and other ones. I like the movie Wonder Woman so I drew this

The process of this drawing was I marked out the grid lines on the paper and then marked lines on my reference picture then I lightly mapped out my character then I added shading to it.

Persecution of Christians

My inspiration for this project is that this is a growing issue that Christians are being killed and tortured for  our religion.

My process for this piece was I would find other words that connect with the word Persecution and used those in the piece to show what happens to Christians

Gabriel

My inspiration for this piece is that I wanted to do something that was challenging for me and different than my usual art work. I chose my dog because I love him and I wanted to show how loving and sweet his is, so hopefully someone could see that when they look at the art work.

The process that took place is I started out mapping him out very lightly and then I started with the white that is above his nose and started doing the flicking motion to create the fur texture. Then I moved towards the ears and created that same texture, I continued with the rest of the body, I wanted to create some highlights and some shading to make it a little more realistic, I created some shadows instead of doing the floor, to hopefully create some contrast.

My inspiration for this piece was that I really think that the Northern lights are very pretty so I figured that this would workout good

I mapped out the sketch. then I started with my lightest color. Then I added my medium color. Then I added my dark colors, then I blended  the colors

The Old Barn

I chose this landscape because I like the look of barns in paintings so I wanted to try it out and see what it looked like when I was done.

I started with a light mapping of the landscape and then I did used the masking fluid, then I did the wash of the sky and the grass where the dandelions would be then I let that dry, then I worked on the barn and did a light wash on that, then I did the wet on dry to create details on the barn and the grass, then I also let that dry then I worked on the trees and added texture to them and the barn, then I took off the masking fluid to keep the dandelions white and added texture to them as well.

Hair like the River

My inspiration for this piece is that I had never really heard this metaphor before so I thought that it would be pretty interesting to try and do watercolor.

I started out with a wash and then started to make the colors darker, then I tried to blend the colors better, then I made the mountains reflection in the water.

Desert Landscape

My inspiration for this piece is that I seen how Van Goe did his starry night piece and I wanted to see what I could paint using that style. Also I liked how it looked and wanted to paint similar to his style.

The process that I used is I started doing the background and I then I started to get towards the mountains and then the grass then the clouds. Also I stared to work on the cactus's and the trees.

Masters style

describe:My piece depicts mountains and then has a sunset and clouds in the background. The mountains are dark purple and light purple, the clouds are normal colors and then the sunset is colorful and transitions from yellow to orange to pink and then to blue and then to almost black. Also has little wispy clouds

Create: The way I created my art piece is that I looked up a picture of mountains with the sunset and the clouds and then I went on memory.

Idea: the idea behind this piece is that I wanted to do a different landscape than what I did last year for this assignment and I kind of struggle a little bit when it comes to mountains and the sunset and clouds so I wanted to just challenge my self a little bit.

Goal: The goal for this assignment was that I would grow and do better than the same assignment that I did last year.

Thoughts: The overall thoughts that I have for this piece is that I think that this piece does show Impressionism and I think that I used short brush strokes in this piece really well.

Title: Pigs

This piece depicts two pigs in a barn in a stable, the two pigs are very close together, the elements are color, I used two pink colors to make different shades of pink to try and match the colors in the picture to make it look as realistic as I could get it. The obvious principle is focal point, I wanted you the audience to focus on the two pigs that I have drawn in this piece.

This piece was created using Oil Pastels, I used some techniques to create this piece that I was taught to try and make it look as realistic as the picture was. I used heavy and light pressure blends on the two pigs to blend pink, white, and gray together.

My goal for this assignment was to get better with the oil pastels and to make the pigs realistic, I wanted to challenge myself and I think that it was a good idea that I did even though my piece did not turn out the way that I had imagined it.

My inspiration for this piece is that I love pigs, I think that they are very cute and I have not tried to do something realistic such as pigs and so this was a challenge for me. I thought that the way that the pigs were positioned that it would look really cool on paper.

Overall, this piece did not turned out the way that I had imagined it would. I think that I need to practice and work on making and blending colors a little more and to evenly put down the colors so that way I do not have streaks in my work. So no I am not happy with the way that it turned out.

WaterColor

Foreshortening

This piece depicts a pig that its nose is bigger than it actually is and the body is smaller than it is. I tried to make this as realistic as possible. I used Prismacolor colored pencils to make my piece have some kind of color.

I used Colored pencils as my media in this piece to create the piece as realistic as i could. I layered the colored pencils to create more of a blending technique and make everything whole.

My goal for this piece was to do 2 things, 1 I wanted to make the foreshortening piece better than last years piece that I did, 2 I wanted to make a drawing of the pig better than my oil pastel piece.

My overall thoughts about my piece is that I love the way that I turned out I think that I made everything proportionate and I also made it look somewhat realistic. So I think that I was very successful with my piece

This piece depicts a picture of me. It is in portrait orientation where my hair is over my shoulders and my face is tilted a little to the right and i am looking over at something in the distance. I used different values of color to make this piece ;look as realistic as possible.

This piece was created by using watercolor. I used a variety of colors to make this piece an eye catcher, and used different values to make the piece look realistic.

My inspiration for this piece was that I wanted to do something that I had not done before and I wanted to see if I could make this look semi realistic because I have a hard time making things look realistic especially people.

My goal was to make this piece look as realistic as the picture and I think that I would have accomplished that if I had finished it.

Overall, I think that this piece would have turned out like I had hoped if I had just finished the piece, I would have layered the watercolor a little bit more, and made some shadows darker and made the skin a little more dark and worked on the eyes.
